Camp Awakening has been selected as 1 of 10 national finalists in the Goodlife Kids Foundation’s #Win4Kids contest. As part of the contest Goodlife Kids Foundation is giving away a total of $100,000 to programs across Canada that are helping kids get active.
“Only 26% of Canadian kids with physical disabilities are physically active.” says Tracy Morley, Executive Director, Camp Awakening. “However, at Camp Awakening campers participate in a variety of recreational activities – including at least four to six hours of instructional physical activity daily. Activities include swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, wheelchair basketball, sledge hockey, tennis, challenge courses and so much more! Just a few days at camp can be a catalyst for helping youth with physical disabilities lead a healthier, more active life.”
Canadians can vote by going to www.win4kids.com. Best part – you need only vote ONE TIME! Voting ends at 11:59pm on Friday, March 4, 2016.
On Saturday, March 5th, 2016 all 10 finalists will attend a Spin4Kids Plus event in their community to learn how much of the $100,000 they’ve won through the #Win4Kids contest!
