YOUR SUPPORT of Camp Awakening programs will help youth with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and amputation to:
• gain independence
• try new things
• discover the wonders of nature
• make genuine face-to-face connections
• build life, social & wilderness skills
• learn to lead healthier, more active lives
• form lifelong friendships
• challenge their perceived limitations
As a registered charity, that receives no government funding and relies on donations from individuals, foundations, and community groups to make camp happen, we need your help
Kids of all ages and abilities need connection and community now, more than ever.
With your support, we can still fulfill Camp Awakening’s mission to “create fun, safe and supportive environments where youth with physical disabilities can increase independence, learn new skills, develop confidence and make lasting friendships” – albeit in new and different ways.
Over the past several months we have launched a new year-round outdoor club – the Compass Crew – and hosted our first ever virtual April Break Camp. We are also expanding and improving the virtual Camp Awakening @ Home summer program for kids & teens, as well as offering a new online Leaders-In-Training program for young adults.
On behalf of the incredible volunteer Board of Directors, our passionate staff, our appreciative campers and their families, thank you for your support and investment in Camp Awakening’s programs for youth with physical disabilities.
