YOUR SUPPORT of Camp Awakening programs will help youth with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and amputation to:
• gain independence
• try new things
• discover the wonders of nature
• make genuine face-to-face connections
• build life, social & wilderness skills
• learn to lead healthier, more active lives
• form lifelong friendships
• challenge their perceived limitations
The past two summers without in-person, on-site camp programs have been challenging. Yet, Camp Awakening continued to fulfill its mission to “create fun, safe and supportive environments where youth with physical disabilities can increase independence, learn new skills, develop confidence and make lasting friendships” – albeit in new and very different ways.
While the Camp Awakening @ Home virtual programs fulfilled a need and helped to build connection and create community for youth with physical disabilities, we are so EXCITED for an awesome return to overnight camp at all three of our locations in 2022!
Not only are we returning to in-person camp…it’s also Camp Awakening’s 40th Anniversary!
As a registered charity, that receives no government funding and relies on donations from individuals, foundations, and community groups, we need your help to make camp happen.
On behalf of the incredible volunteer Board of Directors, our passionate staff, our appreciative campers and their families, thank you for your support and investment in Camp Awakening’s programs for youth with physical disabilities.
