Camp Awakening

The strength of Camp Awakening is in our volunteer Board of Directors. They inspire and encourage through vision, talent and passion. Their gifts provide opportunities for lives to be changed.

2022/2023 Board of Directors

Susie Lindsay, Chair
Susie, as a former camp counsellor at Camp Awakening, is passionate about making summer camp and outdoor adventure accessible to all kids.  Susie is counsel at the Law Commission of Ontario, working on law reform initiatives focused on improving access to justice. 

Dolly Menna-Dack, Vice Chair
Dolly is a former Camp Awakening camper who is passionate about ensuring kids and youth have the opportunity to participate in summer camp. Dolly is a Clinical and Research Ethicist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.

Eric Stephenson, Treasurer
A long-time camper and tripping enthusiast at Camp Kandalore, Eric is excited to put his corporate finance and strategy skills towards ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy camp. Eric is a Manager, International Business Development at The Valens Company and a Managing Director at Black Orchid Advisory Corp. He sits on the Finance Committee and serves as Camp Awakening’s Treasurer.

Erin Brandon, Secretary
A Paediatric Nurse Practitioner at SickKids Hospital, Erin is passionate about increasing opportunities from children and youth with medical and functional needs.

Jamie Macintosh, Past Chair
President and CEO of Monterey Minerals Inc. and alumni of Kilcoo Camp, Jamie manages our Endowment Fund.

Lesley Cresswell
Lesley is a former Camp GV – the original host camp for the Awakening girls’ program – camper and camp counsellor.  She works at Addenda Capital as Head Equity Trader and sits on the Finance Committee. 

David Latimer (ex-officio)
Known as “Lub” at camp, David is the Director of Kilcoo Camp and Director of Community Life at Greenwood College School. He keeps an eye out for our boys in the summer.

Bruce Logan
Bruce is a communications expert who lends a hand to our brand building, marketing and stakeholder communications efforts.

Meghan Payne
Meghan is an avid outdoors woman with a passion for all things camp and canoe tripping. A health law lawyer with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Meghan is always happy to help out at Camp with everything from legal guidance to canoe trip planning.

Lisa Wilson (ex-officio)
Lisa is the Executive Director of Camp Oconto.  She, and her daughter Bronwyn Gorsline, keep an eye on the girls in the summer.
